Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Workshop

Join us for a workshop led by Whitney Tome of The Raben Group on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.

The workshop will cover:

  •  Setting a framework for holding and managing equity, inclusion and diversity conversations;

  • Informing participants about the scientific research and impacts of bias - implicit and explicit - on decisions and behaviors;

  • Using scenarios to explore the ways that bias can show up, and how to address it; and

  • Providing suggestions and approaches for engaging in EDI conversations at your organization.

The Raben Group is a national public affairs firm with a practice in diversity, equity and inclusion. We are committed to making connections, solving problems, and inspiring change across the corporate, nonprofit, foundation, and government sectors.

We were founded by former Assistant Attorney General Robert Raben in 2002 with a lofty goal and an audacious spirit: to make this nation greater and move organizations and public policy in a sensible, humane direction through excellent client services. We get our clients to their finish line with our creative approaches, wide networks, and expertise in advocacy, political, and media spaces. No national firm has deeper roots among LGBTQ communities and communities of color than Raben. A majority of our staff are women and/or people of color with a plurality identifying as LGBTQ.

From our offices in Washington, DC, New York City, Los Angeles, and El Paso, Texas, our talented and diverse team of 70+ connects dots, solves problems, and helps each of our clients arrive at their definition of success.

Whitney Tome, Principal, has worked with fishermen, environmentalists, advocates, political strategists, government employees, and thought leaders to develop the approach and solutions needed for the problem. Combining her facilitation skills and understanding of people, Whitney is able to walk into any room, ask the right questions, develop a strategy in the moment and leave everyone with action items and tasks. Prior to joining The Raben Group, Whitney served as the director of diversity and inclusion at the National Parks Conservation Association where she lead, defined and crafted metrics and measures for the organization’s diversity and inclusion efforts. Whitney has advised complex ocean stakeholder processes as a Program Manager and Mediator at the Meridian Institute including facilitating public meetings for regional ocean planning bodies that included state, federal and tribal partners. Whitney earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Middlebury College and a J.D. from American University’s Washington College of Law. In addition to serving as Principal, Whitney is the Executive Director for Green 2.0.
