RESCHEDULED – Downtown Brooklyn Arts Management Fellowship Program Transition - Kick-Off Meeting

  • MoCADA 80 Hanson Place Brooklyn, NY, 11217 United States (map)

Senior staff of organizations interested in participating in the Downtown Brooklyn Arts Management Fellowship program are invited to a conversation about transitioning the program to DBAA over the next two years.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The Downtown Brooklyn Arts Management Fellowship (DBAMF)
, a collaborative program developed by BRIC, Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts, Mark Morris Dance Group, and Theatre for a New Audience, launched in 2016. With a mission to build long-term equity and diversity in the field of arts management, DBAMF is designed to offer young people from historically underrepresented groups the comprehensive professional training, practical skills, leadership development opportunities, and professional networks to develop successful careers in arts administration.

In its first two years (2016-17/2018-19), DBAMF offered 12 paid fellowships that included professional training, practical skills and leadership development opportunities, and entrée into professional networks aimed at launching successful careers in arts administration. DBAA will be assuming administrative responsibility for the program going forward. In doing so, we have the ability to tap the expertise of a larger group of members who will serve as mentors and stewards of the program and offer fellows exposure to a wider range of professional experiences.

A two-year transition process is planned, piloting the expansion in FY20 and FY21, with a full relaunch of the program in Fall 2021.

PRELIMINARY AGENDA

- Overview of DBAMF To Date (Presentation and Q&A with representatives from the founding four organizations)
